4 September 2009		A new album on A Glimpse of Guizhou has been added to the Gallery. These images were taken in a short trip to one of the Miaozu minority villages in Guizhou during the lunar new year time in February 2004. It was the time for festive celebration with lots of entertainment going on in the village. Young people especially the girls were dressed in colorful traditional costumes went dancing in the open yard and also there was the fierce buffalo fight held only during that time of the year. I went there with my first digital camera the Canon 10D which I was still trying to get in grip with its vast amount of functions. Unfortunately half of the photos I took during that trip were lost due to mishandling of the storage device and could never be retrieved. That was indeed a very steep learning curve. The images in this album were selected from among those that survived. In processing these images, I have used some new Photoshop techniques which gave better colour saturation and smoother transition in shadow and highlight contrast. Quite surprisingly, the 10D seemed to give decent quality even compared to the latest advanced models. 上載了一個新相簿 - 貴州掠影。這是 04 年二月農曆新年跟朋友怱怱忙忙的到貴州的一個苗寨跑了兩三天拍的片子，那時剛剛是新年，家家户户的年青人，尤其是女孩子，都穿上了傳統的笛族服裝到廣場跳舞，非常熱鬧。當時我剛轉換了用 Canon 10D 數碼機拍攝，除了操作還未完全熟習外，在檔案貯存時又出了亂子，導致損失了一半的相片檔案，非常不幸又沒辦法。所以一直都沒大理會這些照片。這里上載的照片是選自僅存的檔案。在處理這些照片時，我用了一些較新的photoshop技術，令照片有很好的色彩飽和度及柔順的光差表現。其實 10D拍的片絕不遜色於最新一代的數碼機。

11 August 2009		A new album on Birds in Nam San Wai has been added to the Gallery. These images were actually my first try of bird shooting with the "slowly" Canon 1DsII and a barely sufficient 100-400 tele zoom coupled with a 1.4X extender. I must admit that bird shooting was entirely out of my scope of expertise though I managed to capture a few OK shots after a shivering cold morning's work way back in February of last year. 上載了一個新相簿 - 南生圍水鳥。這輯水鳥作品是昨年新春到新生圍拍的，也是我第一次拍飛鳥圖片。老實說，我從未有這方面拍攝經驗。相機是 1DsII，速度上也趕不上。鏡頭只有 100-400 加 1.4x倍鏡。苦戰了一個上午，總算有幾張過得去的作品。

10 August 2009		A new album on Golden Fall in Ba Shang has been added to the Gallery. This was my first trip to Ba Shang in September of 2005. Ba Shang used to be the hunting ground of the royal dynasties in the past. It is a stretch of vast grassland in eastern Inner Mongolia and took about 7 hours' drive from Beijing. Autumn was the most beautifuln season in Ba Shang where the birch forest all turned golden yellow mingling together with the wild vegetation. I am revisiting this beautiful area again this fall. Here are some images from the past memory. 上載了一個新相簿 - 金秋的壩上。壩上是一片大草原，是前朝的皇家狩獵場，在內蒙的東面，由北京乘車大概需七小時。金秋的壩上是全年最美麗的季節，白樺林全都披上了金色葉子，像是為了嚴冬來臨盡顯姿彩。我今年九月會再去拍攝。這里上載的是我05年9月第一次拍攝的相片。

8 August 2009		A new album on Wu Yuan in March has been added to the Gallery. These images were a selected few taken in the picturesque villages of Wu Yuen in eastern China last year. I visited the villages this year again and hope to add more images later. 上載了一個新相簿 - 婺源三月。三月的婺源是黃黃的油菜花季節，還有白白的梨花，綿綿的黃梅雨天，襯著古老的村子，被譽為中國最美麗的田莊。

8 August 2009		在我這個网頁運行了兩年多的福島影友會討論版於2009年8月2日落幕了。我在 News and Views 刊出了我的感想。我在此再次感謝各影友過往的熱誠參與，各會友有什麽問題可以用電郵聯絡我。而我亦會加強我這個网頁的資訊版，與大家分享。

6 August 2009		The album on Tibet has been added with a dozen more photos. They are from the same batch of photos taken in my 2nd trip to Tibet in May 2005.

22 June 2009		A new album on Variation of a Lotus Theme has been added to the Gallery. This is the 2nd album on lotus blossoms taken in Lotus Garden of Sam Sui, Guangzhou. Many of the photos were taken in early morning in falling rain. They were saved by the magic of high iso setting of the Canon 5DII. The dreamy atmospheric effect was rendered by PS post processing. 上載了另一個荷花的新相簿 -蓮池別曲。這是上週末跟黃山團的團友到三水荷花世界拍攝的，很多謝 Ada 搞手安排。不過又是貴人出路，連場大雨，早上四時半出發，影到十點半直落六個小時，一邊避雨一邊影，還好沒有中暑。我只帶了一枝鏡 70 -200 /f4 IS + 1.4X 由頭影到尾，雨後荷花份外添幾份畫意，色澤也很豐潤。

7 June 2009		A new album - Images from the Lotus Pond has been added to the Gallery. 上載了一個荷花的新相簿 -荷塘儷影。這是昨天和 Anthony 到上水雲泉仙館拍攝的。這也是我從02年改用 Canon 數碼相機首次拍攝荷花，以前都是用 Leica 菲林機拍的。晨早5點多到埗，一已經有一位影友開工，不是彼很多花，只有十多朵，荷葉已經生長得很密茂，沒有多少水影空位。估計三兩個星期前新荷會好些。天陰有雲，到了 7 點多個太陽發光發熱，可以取景既其實都不多了，只影了三幾款便收工，但亦有很多影友才剛剛趕到。

1 June 2009		A new album on Plum Blossoms of Early Spring has been added to the Gallery. These images were taken in the Plum Garden of Nanjing in February this year. 上載了一個南京初春二月看梅花的新相簿。這是今年初春二月跟陳紹文老師及學生們(我只是掛單偷師)到南京十三陵梅園拍攝的。今年遇上黄梅時分，雨紛紛的下了三天，傲骨寒梅還是抵不住風雨的摧殘。還好帶備相機水衣，沒有放過拍攝機會。雨中拍的梅花，別有一種美態，少一分麗色，多一分冷艷。這個旅程，最大的體會，是陳老師教的一句拍攝梅花的精句：「無女不成梅」。意思是拍攝梅花時，要同時拍到梅枝骨幹像個「女」的形態去襯托才是有梅花意境啲畫面。看來明年還要努力。
