The motor that comes with the deck is noticeably worn-out. It may be still working but the cap that holds a ball bearing flushing the shaft is missing. |

The new motor before replacing the old one. It is made in Holland, AC type, 110V 60Hz 250 RPM and pretty expensive at $1,690. |

| The old(original) and new motors. The original motor is zince plated with the two halves of casing soldered. The new one has a copper colour coating. | ¡@ | Here one can easily see the bottom end of the original motor with the flushing ball bearing cap missing. |

| The 2 black screws are for mounting the motor to the top plate. There are 4 special washers sandwiching the 2 flanks of the motor for adjustment of the pulley's incline angle. | ¡@ | Note the 2 flanks of the original motor have been deformed. |

| The new motor is in place. It is a 5 minute job. Loosen the two securing nuts, replace with the new motor, be sure to put back the special washers before tightening up the nuts. | ¡@ | Now the motor replacement is done pumping up the cost to $12,500 - a bit costy for a 2nd hand LP12 but I love the rosewood plinth which is quite rare to have nowadays. The next step is to install the power supply board. |
