I received another package from UK today.  It is from the same seller who sold me the LP 12.  ¡@ He was kind enough to sell me this beautiful near mint condition Linn Ittok LVIII.  Indeed it was in excellent condition and is quite a hard to find tonearm nowadays.

The Ittok III came with the armboard and the 3 original screws for mounting to the LP 12.  These screws are believed to be vital for energy dispersion, as I was told by Linn expert. ¡@ The Ittok III is the latest generation prior to discontinuation.  Its design was reincarnated to Linn's flagship tonearm Ekos I which later upgrades to version II.  I was told that the Ittok III is nearly as good as the Ekos I.

The main difference between the Ittok III and the Ekos is perhaps this set of bearing.  The Ekos's bearings are of much higher precision.  Otherwise, the outer appearance of the 2 tonearms are nearly identical. ¡@ The  arm rest and the arm rise device are now in one complete assembly as the Ekos.

The headshell is glued to the tonearm tube by special epoxy instead of mounting by screws as in the case of Ittok II. ¡@ Likewise, the aluminum tonearm tube also is glued to the turret base.
